There are even classes for couples, singles and families. New York City is known as the spiritual capital of the world and there are lots of opportunities for spiritual growth in this wonderful city. If you are looking for spiritual growth, I would recommend attending a workshop or class in NYC.
In NYC you can find the perfect place to attend a workshop. There are workshops and seminars all the time about anything and everything related to spirituality and God. If you are a newbie at being spiritual, then you will want to check out workshops first to get the hang of things. If you have been doing your homework and researching to become more aware of God, you may already know what you want to do and where you want to go.
When I started meditating 10 years ago, I didn’t know what to expect. I really didn’t know what it was going to feel like or even how to go about meditating. I didn’t know if I was supposed to sit or stand, or even if I should close my eyes or not. It’s hard to describe the experience other than to say that I became more relaxed and refreshed while sitting still. I also found that I was able to concentrate better.
Now, I am more than aware of what it feels like to meditate, but I haven’t been sitting for more than 5 minutes in most of my attempts. When I am in New York City and I want to get in the mood for some mindful meditation, I go for a walk or I visit the Empire State Building. Both of these places have wonderful scenery to look at and they help me bring the peace of God into my life.
Guided Meditation NYC
When I am back in NYC, I just want to be where the action is so I can catch up on all of the activities going on around me. The feeling I get when I am out and about is a different feeling from being in a peaceful, beautiful place like New York City. It’s a completely different energy altogether.
It took me a few years to really understand what I was feeling during my mindful meditation sessions in NYC. When I return each year, I am really amazed at how much more calm and centered I can actually be. Now, when I am feeling stressed or angry I just go outside and enjoy the weather. Instead of feeling so agitated I just walk. I feel calmer and happier all of the time.
Meditation in itself is a great experience, especially if you can get someone to show you how to do it in a location that’s quiet and peaceful. NY is full of places that offer guided meditation classes for beginners to practice in private. NYC has many parks to take your mind off of the road and to relax in as well. If you want to travel out of the city you can do so in private guided meditation sessions. I’ve done these in the East Village, Fort Wadsworth in Brooklyn, Penn Station Park in New York City, and I even did one in San Francisco.

My favorite thing about doing this type of meditation is the feeling of relaxation and peace that comes over me. It allows me to be calm and centered, which in turn helps me to feel better about myself. Meditation is a great way to clear your mind and to feel more positive about the state of your life. NYC is a wonderful place to visit with friends and family. You can take a short guided tour while feeling relaxed and centered.
